MISSION
The introduction of paid vacation marks a significant milestone in Belgium's social history. On June 27, 1936, the Belgian Parliament adopted the law granting the first paid holidays. At that time, six annual days were granted, whereas today, the legal number of vacation days is set at twenty.
The Belgian Food Vacation Fund (CCPAB) serves workers in the food sector as a whole and in food retail for affiliated companies. It also benefits workers in agriculture and horticulture, as well as those engaged in agricultural and horticultural work.
The CCPAB is responsible for calculating the number of vacation days and the amount of vacation pay, as well as for disbursing this payment.
VALUES
- Solidarity
As solidarity is at the heart of our mission, it is naturally also in our collaboration. Solidarity will first be based on kindness and respect for differences. From there, employees must support each other in a spirit of mutual aid. Solidarity gives confidence and allows efforts to be distributed to make them bearable for everyone. It is not only beneficial for the receiver but also for the giver.
- Engagement
Commitment translates into great involvement in the work by having “the heart in the work”. The employees who commit are determined in their action, curious and truly interested in all facets of their profession; they have the desire to learn throughout their career. This commitment from each person strengthens the dynamics and cohesion of the team; it allows the association’s objectives to be achieved.
- Honesty
Certainly honesty is for us an essential and obvious value in the primary sense of probity. But it goes well beyond that because it also refers to transparency and frankness. Transparency allows us to show things as they are, to share information openly, while frankness allows us to say what is, what should be, completely and sincerely. Thus everyone can act with full knowledge of the facts to achieve our social mission.
